Dojo Fundraiser Seminar with Prakash Sensei

The first of two 8-hour seminars on sword and staff in Saotome Sensei’s weapons system, this seminar will concentrate on enhancing skills with crisp and realistic execution of kumitachi, performing effective sword takeaways and introducing the spectacular jo patrol kata. This seminar is for all levels; instructors and students preparing for dan tests are particularly encouraged to attend.

No prior exposure to the kata are necessary, though students who have not had, or wish to refresh, basic sword and jo handling (suburi) are encouraged to practice beforehand or to attend the pre-seminar session taught by Escamilla Sensei, on Friday, 6:15 – 7:45 pm ($15).

Students are welcome to stay at the Dojo for $15/night.

Proceeds from this seminar will go towards Redlands Aikikai’s 2017 mat fund: we aim to purchase mats for use by the Dojo and in the ASU Fall Camp in November.
