Founded in 1992, Shobu Aikido of Vermont is the first dojo to have grown out of Shobu Aikido of Boston, under William Gleason Shihan and has been a member dojo of the ASU since it's beginning. Small format classes and personal instruction provide quality training in aikido form, function and state of being. Visitors and beginners are always welcome. 501(c)(3)

By board resolution, ASU has updated the policy on youth and adult rank requirements: With the permission of the dojo cho, children who reach the age of thirteen or older may enter the ASU rolls as adult members. The highest rank they may enter with is sankyu. As before, the minimum age for testing for shodan (black belt) is 16.
