Budo Dojo is a school of traditional Japanese martial arts, teaching aikido in the Portland metropolitan area for 15 years. Training includes throws, locks, and pinning techniques as well as traditional weapons including wooden sword and staff. Aikido is a non-competitive but powerful martial art that teaches us to unlock our potential. It can improve our health, confidence, and spirit. Visitors are welcomed and encouraged to drop in and observe classes.
In 1999 Budo Dojo, like many aikido dojos, started in the local community recreation center as an aikido club. In 2001 we opened in our original location in Beaverton, on 1st Street. In 2005 we outgrew that space and moved into the historic Cadey Building, on Farmington Road.
